Lesson 10
In Lesson 10, the girls learn what cooperation means. They are able to practice cooperating with each other by listening, sharing ideas, and following others’ lead. The team works together to come up with a goal to work on until next time. While it would be great if everyone could always work together and cooperate with each other, sometimes the girls feel pressured by others instead. Questions and Conversation Starters: 1. What is cooperation? 2. How do you and I cooperate every day? Lesson 11 In Lesson 11, the girls practice how to stand up to peer pressure with a game that helps them learn to STOP and take a BrThRR (breather) when they feel pressured. This strategy teaches them to STOP, BREATHE, THINK, RESPOND, & REVIEW which helps them step back and figure out how they feel instead of making a decision too quickly. Questions and Conversation Starters: 1. What is peer pressure? 2. Do you remember the STOP and take a BrThRR strategy? Will you tell me about it? Lesson 12 In Lesson 12, the girls will have a chance to have fun playing together! They cooperate to make decisions as a team. They pick the games we will play and even lead the activities themselves. Our team will work together to decide on a Community Impact Project for the end of the season. Help your Girl on the Run with this week’s goal by figuring out one way she can help with the Community Impact Project! Questions and Conversation Starters: 1. How did you and your team cooperate when you picked games to play? 2. What will your team do for the Community Impact Project? How will you help out?
