Lesson 13
In Lesson 13, the girls learn how important it is to express our feelings, wants, and needs in a healthy way. We practice sharing our feelings and standing up for ourselves by using 4 phrases: “I feel…, When you…, Because…, and I would like for you to….” It takes a lot of courage to stand up for ourselves and others, so help your girl practice! Questions and Conversation Starters: 1. Can you think of a time when you chose to stand up for yourself? 2. What are the 4 key phrases to use when you want to stand up for yourself? Let’s practice them together. Lesson 14 In Lesson 14, the girls learn that gossip hurts everyone. We talk about some different questions that can help us figure out if someone is gossiping. We also practice using our STOP and take a BrThRR strategy to respond to different gossip situations. As always, we include the power of running (and/or walking, skipping, hopping, or dancing)! Next time, we will talk about bullying. Stay tuned! Questions and Conversation Starters: 1. What is gossip? 2. How can you stop rumors from spreading?
