Lesson 15
In Lesson 15, the girls learn the different roles in bullying: the bully, the target, or a bystander. We play a game that shows us that the only way a bystander can help put an end to bullying is when she is a “Stand-Byer!” A Stand-Byer reports bullying to an adult and supports girls who are being bullied. Questions and Conversation Starters: 1. What is bullying? 2. How can you be a Stand-Byer instead of a bystander? Lesson 16 In Lesson 16, the girls learn to choose friends who help show our star power! We play a running Scavenger Hunt that helps them find teammates who are good listeners, respectful, kind, and more. We also practice choosing friends that encourage us during our workout. Next time we will have our practice 5k. Help your Girl on the Run make a list of everything she has learned that will help her run a 5k—things that will help her physical body and things that will help her thoughts and emotions! Questions and Conversation Starters: 1. How can we choose friends that encourage us? 2. Let’s each say the name of one of our best friends and share why we choose to be friends with them.
