Our Practice 5k is on May 7th! A few things to know about the Practice 5k:
-We will begin running our laps at the start of practice after a quick warm up. -Parents are WELCOME and encouraged to join in! Run a lap, run all the laps or just come cheer on the girls. It's a big day for them and your support is always appreciated! -Please make sure the girls are dressed appropriately I have seen a LOT of jeans worn during practice this season which are not recommended for running in - friction can cause burns and raw skin from the denim. Running shoes and water should also be at every practice. The goal for the girls at the practice 5k just like the actual 5k is only to FINISH and not how long it takes. Sometimes girls need a bit longer than the allotted practice time to complete their laps, Coach Jamie will stay as long as necessary for all of the girls to complete their laps. Please plan ahead if you know your girl may take a bit longer - generally most of the girls are finished just before or shortly after 5pm but I have stayed in seasons past until as late as 6pm. If you are at the practice 5k you are welcome to take your girl home after they have completed their laps even if it's before 5pm but I do encourage them to cheer on their teammates for a few minutes first. Make sure to check out with one of the Coaches prior to leaving. At 5pm we will release the girls that have completed their 5k laps to the parents waiting in the parking lot. I will update anyone that is waiting for a girl that is still completing their remaining laps and try to give an estimate of how much longer they will be. As always if you have any questions please contact Coach Jamie
